Opening Up the Entry

The entry of my house used to be odd, but not anymore! I had the wall taken down that separated the stairs/back of the house from the front rooms.

Some time ago, they used to rent out the upstairs rooms to staff from the hospital down the street, and then baseball players from the area Mooresville minor league team. The wall and doors they put up I believe were used to close off areas of the house after a certain time. Now, you can once again see the staircase when you walk in. The 12 foot ceilings make such a huge impression on you now and I’m hoping to run electricity to a beautiful chandelier to make an even bigger statement. The boards on the ceiling are from the ceiling tiles that we took down. They will eventually be removed as well.

From the back of the hall there is so much more light.

This is unfortunately the best picture of what the wall and doors looked like before.
